Top speed to market for concept store displays
The Brief
Our client Dixons Carphone decided to create a concept store in Swindon for their Carphone Warehouse technology retail brand, to operate as a trial for the full roll-out of newly designed high-street stores across the UK.

Having seen very positive results elsewhere in their stores, the Carphone Warehouse team was keen to use Cestrian’s tension fabric systems to achieve their vision. Our expert retail display team was supplied with a title and dimensions for each area of the new concept store; and immediately started to get familiar with the business’s new mesh-style walling system, which was new to us. We conducted tests and adapted our existing frames accordingly. Cestrian then produced a full range of display items, including: – An interchangeable graphic facility within wall fabric, by stitching in Velcro and adding acrylic holders; which was ideal for deal advertisements that needed to be slotted in as they changed each day – Numerous precisely calculated elements that were overseen by our account director – from delivery to installation and snagging – as the timescale did not allow for errors or delays – High-quality aluminium profiles for our tension fabric frames We used our EFI Vutek to print the fabric graphics; along with a heat press to set and activate ink for colour vibrancy.
Results
Cestrian adhered to a strict two-day turnaround for all printing, delivery and installation, with any unexpected challenges immediately dealt with and redelivered on a same-day basis. This meant that other businesses working on the store could maintain their schedules and make sure that the entire project was completed on time.
