Window Display Graphics & Props

BANK Fashion was taken over by the JD Group in December 2007. JD Sports Fashion PLC has long been established as the leading UK specialist retailer of fashionable branded and own brand sports and casual wear.

BANK is aimed at the branded fashion-conscious young male and female consumers of the UK. The company sells fashion brands such as Puma, Lipsy, Adidas, Superdry, Converse and Jack & Jones as well as own label brands. The BANK brand continues to expand throughout the UK including a first store in Northern Ireland.

The Brief

Cestrian was appointed as lead creative for this project and were tasked with designing, producing and distributing a striking and dynamic window display that could be fitted by store staff in all UK stores.

Challenge

The design of the window display took into account the individual layouts and ensured that, despite the window size, the graphics would have the same consistent high impact. Cestrian produced and distributed all features of the window display campaign but it was the responsibility of each store to fit the graphics. The campaign was to be installed in all stores across the UK, so keeping packaging and distribution costs to a minimum were considered. Some of the display products required assembly instructions whilst others required positioning guidelines, which were communicated to all involved employees via an instruction sheet.

Solution

A site audit was conducted at the beginning of the project and each store had its individual requirements assessed to work out the optimum display content. The flat-packed display dimensions and packaging were scoped at the initial stages so logistical budgets were maximised. All the window display products were designed in-house and could be easily assembled from flat pack with clear step-by-step instruction sheets.

Results

The solution provided the following benefits: – Consistency across all stores despite varying window sizes. – Flat packed features reduced packaging and distribution costs. – Employee installation reduced fitting costs. – A high impact campaign that was delivered on time and within budget.

Technology

For high quality printing, all elements were printed on the Agfa M-Press Tiger large format machine. The window graphics utilised the technique of roll to roll high quality reverse printing onto optically clear film for window application.
